Film induction with using the EX1 Sony camera

Pick up and drop off of equipment: 9-9.30 and 3.30-4.

I showed him these films:
1. Filmed hand held all in one shot. Would be hard to use to film Dan as drums do not have one main focus point. It would be hard to chose a point to look at without missing the whole picture, many because drums are very fast and broad.

2. He told me this film has harsh iso and white balance, as some details are completely lost in over exposure and underexposure (too white and too dark).

Camera Set up:

Check you have a tripod plate

Needs to be on manual iris
ND filters are off
gain low and light balance
Sound is at the right level
White balance buttons (set A and B white balance if in different locations)
Shutter 150 (through main menu or use joystick on top)

When I am filming I am going to start with simply recording and stopping. As many professional drummers have this approach and on rubbish cameras. I think this is just a good starting point to have drumming in Dan's website, to showcase different styles. Maybe later in the year or as part of FMP I could look into filming with more added techniques.

Also on the Sunday the 18th November, Mahogany Hand Glider are booking out the Library pub or another venue to film the band playing live. I can film Dan and put any footage on the website. Going to email Jonathan about what I need / have to do.
