onto a winner. Although Carpenters pencils are always wooden and flat they wouldn't look like drum sticks. I'm realised that to find wooden pencils on the internet you have to type in natural wood pencils. Most hare in bulk with a min of 500.
Paperchase do 4 for £2. plain wood.
This is all about drumstick pencils, so I just bought one pair for £3.50
Going to buy some plain pencils from town to test with.
