Concept one:
The whole idea of the exhibition and project is to celebrate typography, but show the timeline from birth up to present. Although I would love to use this and brand with perfect typography skills, I must also make these posters and the whole brand interesting to people who do not have any interest in Typography.
These posters in particular have to attract people attention enough so they read and submit their work. This is the reason for the pastel colours as they draw your attention, but I also used this colour scheme as perviously blogged to show a celebration. The continuous line is meant to represent a timeline. The first five designs are initial ideas using Edmondsans as a contemporary font sold on LostType. The layout falls a similar suit, comtemporay and hopefully interesting.
The next posters a extension of this idea, I was unsure about Edmondsans being a perfect representation of 'Typos graphe' and in the broader sense Typography. I was also sure that at least 3 lots of 45 (all of graphics) would be scrutinising the fact that is Edmondsans a good font? and a wise font choice? So the next posters are 8 variations showing 5 old-style typefaces: Baskerville, Helvetica, Futura, Courier and Bodoni. 3 contemporary typefaces: Edmondsans, Aller, Quicksand. These posters could be mixed around, different colour and different type. I will now to examples of how this would transfer across the whole spectrum of this project.
