I thought I could start these first because to me they are fun and as Fred says the fun part of the brief. I know I want the icons to be the same style, but I'm not exactly sure what that is at the moment. Weather it meas sharp angles, only using circles and straight lines, or drawing them by hand and scanning them in.
To start of I did a massive initial brain storm of what items I assciate with the 9 groups of stalls in the Market place:
cafes & takeaways
children
fashion and footwear
health and beauty
cards and gifts
entertainment and leisure
food
home
newsagents.
I will create a lot of icons for each subject (about 15-20 depending on scale). They will sit in a A format Landscape, these will be the sections that can be used on the map, website and branding. I will then create one logo for each section.
From this I will re-brand 3 stalls as a example of how the brand would work within the whole market space.
I will re-brand the market place producing a print with the new branding and stall information, using new way-finding too. This will make me think about signage and way finding. In the publication there will be a section or a about the history of the market place.
