Concept two
I wanted to create the timeline, endless effect. I have notice a lot of different layouts and designers use the edge of a page / spread to repeat thoughts, so I applied it here, in the sense that 'We are waiting for you submission' is the repeating component that shows the vertical line (representative of the timeline of typography). I hope that makes sense.
I used the same colours for the first four.
I then, like the other evaluated what I had done. I realised that I could screen print thins and the effect and message would be way more powerful. I also felt the pastel colours was too overpowering as this design has more detail than the first. The last 4 are like the 1st concepts developments with typefaces, I have decided to use Quicksand and Futura (just one old and one new). I felt Helvetica was too bold and looked like is was shouting. I would theoretically screen print onto off-white or thick newsprint stock to show the process side of typography as well as layout. Screen-printing would add value to the design and I could see more people being interested in it.
Taking further
I think after reviewing pervious style above. I didn't like the type disappearing off the page, it seemed to gimmicky. I wanted to use a portrait set up and maximise the size of 'We are waiting....." I'm not sure which one I like to most. I will bring it up with Steph and she what she thinks. These designs would be screen printed, they could use a colour blend?!?
