Rewriting the brief


What is the problem?


1. Not enough people know about the Holocaust.
2. Existing educational books and methods are not interesting
3. Existing historical information is usually long texts, it needs to be more visually engaging
4. Most people have been taught about the Holocaust at some point, but most are not interested, (I need ot make it interesting)
5. The standard facts are well known, but we hear little of actually survivors / helping solider's recollections (apart from Anne Frank).


I intend to... inform / instruct / persuade / direct / educate / promote ... to


Inform, educate and promote


a group of

young adults aged 16-30, who maybe have a prior interest in history, who want to know more about Imblances within the world or need facts visualising to be engaged.

The world has had a mass of historic events that should not be forgotten and remember the world saying "never again" meaning that the world will never again let such a genocide occur. 
To remember and to learn is to educate and prevent humans from making the same mistakes.

PRODUCT (what is your product)

A magazine publication called Imbalance a new issue bimonthly. 
The first focusing on The Holocaust: including the overview of the facts, people who helped save the hunted, Ghettos, Concentration camps, Liberation and the aftermath. 
With a visual impact of block text with info graphics, easy to read, visualising everything.

RANGE (what range of deliverables will you produce/propose)

The Holocaust (#1 issue) 
will be a A4 publication with a overall view of the above topics.
Including a 2nd smaller magazine including several interviews with Holocaust survivors & liberators.
a A2 poster of the map of Europe showing the war movements
2 A3 posters one of the Concentration camps, one of the Ghettos
a double sided A3 poster about Hitler and the Hierarchy of the Nazi power.

The packaging of this.

The branding of ImBalanace, the same fonts will be used throughout all Imbalance publications

5 more publications to fill out a full year:
UNIT 731 and The Rape of Nan King,
The Vietnam War,
Rwandan Genocide,
Russian Civil War,
Spanish Civil War
WW1.

This will also appear on the website www.imbalancemagazine.com
showing current publications and online sneak peaks picking out a few articles a tasters. 
Also promoting the next publication due for release.

DISTRIBUTION / CONTEXT (where will it be viewed/exist)

The magazine will be sold from the website (see above) and retail magazine stores: WHSmith, newsagents,etc.

A publication to educate a audeinec about Imbalnces of Power through Historic events.

Brief:
There is plenty of information out there about Imbalances of Power, specfically in this case the history of power. However textbooks and academic publications are dull and only appear to the select few who will read end on end masses of block texts. 
In response I will create a brand of ‘Imbalance’ To edcate a audience who otherwise would not read such long texts by making the facts and statistics visual. Creating a magazine brand publishing a issue bio monthly. I will plan for the next 12 months, creating everything for the 1st issue. 
#1 issue The Holocaust.

Background:
I must consider how I would package the magazines and brand Imbalance. 
What would communicate all the information best, photographs, video links, info-graphics.
Considering a range, typeface, stock, various sizes.
Considering the context of the publications, the target audience of 16-30.
Creating online presence with the website: www.imbalbcemagazines.com.

Mandatory requirements:
